Day 37

-nother nasty day in Manhattan
-did not feel very bueno today (bad salmon from last night)

-let the dudes know how I was feeln. Got to feeln better though around 3:00
-caught a cab. (don't have an umbrella)

-got to studio
-it was organic food day. the guys saved me some mixed veggies

-we had an intern applicant stop by (his stuff looked pretty sweet)
-worked on some more packaging renders for the coasters

-some notes alex gave me

-worked on a render for a Jason Miller collection

-worked till about 8:00
-got home
-Justice tickets came in


-oh trust me, I will enjoy the show.
-walked down to St. Marks with April and got some frigid awesome hotdogs

--Spicy Redneck (lower)-coleslaw, jalapenos, wiener wrapped in bacon
--Typhoon (upper)-pinapple, jalapenos, wiener wrapped in bacon
-April wanted to check this little thrift shop called Andy's Chee-Pees. Everything in the entire place was $10 dollars for only tonight.

-I figured it was a good place to get my halloween costume (hipster zombie)

-stopped at Ricky's

-bought some fake blood

-looks pretty decent

-I think I'm all set
--80's reminiscent colored clothing
--neon headband
--1 white contact
--fake blood

-good night

Day 36

-up bright and early today (feels good)
-nasty nasty day but still walked to work though

-people watching



-look a scooter

-preferred to coffee

-made it to studio
-worked for a few hours finishing up the last touches on the stool series for design miami
-walked with other intern (jeff) to get some lunch

-saw some interesting looking flats

-mad style

-Luis Guzman was filming outside of our studio

-prob a half million dollar camera under this plastic bag

-mmm pizza

-walked over to the noho star to pick up my notebook (forgot it in the bathroom yesterday)


-very pleased it had no signs of bathroomness on it

-shortly after taking this picture I ran into thaat umbrella

-got back to studio
-drew up some sweet coasters in 3d


-lots of woodworking going down today. always wear a mask when sanding formaldehyde laden mdf

-got home and decided it was time to get a vidi nano
-hoped on a train headed for 59th and 5th ave

-sleepy time


-got off the train
-realized I was in Brooklyn at 59th and 4th ave. (made the oh so common mistake of going uptown instead of downtown)

-note to self: Brooklyn Bridge is uptown from Manhattan

-made it back on the train and headed downtown
-got to the beautiful apple store


-iron maiden. heck yes.

-caught the ftrain back. (yay for information graphics that make absolutely no sense)

-check the friggin sweet Bdub

-I wont deny it. I like the rest of my generation am novelty obsessed, but goodness this thing is foxy looking.

-ate a salmon salad for dinner. The salmon smelled like eggs…kept eating for some reason…. mmmm food poisoning.

-now I must sleep

Day 35

-woke up at an absurdly early hour this morning (7:00)
-then realized I didn't need to be in studio til 10:00
-went down to the laundry mat and picked up clothes

-walked to work
-another beautiful day

-people watched



-got to work and finished up sanding and clear coating the stool legs from last week
-had a blue cheese/steak salad for lunch (by the time I thought to document it, I had already chomped down half of it)

-headed out for another areaware meeting with Alex

-took some good notes

-going to these type meetings is prob one of the most important things you can do during an internship.
-alex and I left. asked me to make a run to Blick art supplies for some pigment (we are dieing epoxy for the stools)

-found Blick (prob the radest art store ever) (found some really sweet silk screens)

-bought the goods

-made it back to studio
-mixed up some epoxy and black pigment test pieces

-updated the press book (featured in surfaces avante guard issue)

-we have so many projects going on in this joint its beyond awesome


-got off around 7
-got home
-chilled for a bit
-became unchilled at the sound of my roommates screaming at the sight of a spider
-got a cup and saved the little friend

-just realized I left my note/sketchbook in a public bathroom (crap)
-worked the rest of the night updating all these durn blogs I been so behind on ;)
